Welcome to the Kobo Moon Universe...
Where stories are made under moonlight. Well, sometimes. I probably do my best work when the sun is out!
“There’s a place I like to imagine exists just behind the ordinary world. You can’t find it on a map, and you won’t notice the door unless you’re looking for it, but it’s there all the same.”
A whimsical introduction, I know, but perhaps the best way of describing how I have arrived at this point. Kobo Moon has become my dream workshop; until now, it was something that swirled around in my head, through a growing maelstrom of inspiration! The “shelves” are crowded with half-finished stories, curious artefacts, and notebooks filled with endless ideas (and trust me, there’s a lot of them). There’s always a cup of tea cooling somewhere, and always a little magic in the air. Plus biscuits, and sometimes cake.
This is where I work, and where you’re warmly invited to visit.
What is Kobo Moon?
Kobo Moon (Kobo means workshop/studio/factory in Japanese) is the home of my creative worlds, a place where imagination and storytelling meet in unexpected ways.
Here, you’ll find:
Behind the Moon Blog: quiet letters and reflections from the workshop floor. Thoughts on creativity, storytelling, and the art of getting lost in an idea.
The Ever After Archives: a repository full of oddities, story sparks, and half-whispered tales that may one day find their way into something bigger. This is my paid subscription area.
World of Whimsica: where stories come out to play through interactive storytelling, folklore, and creative adventures.
Yume World (coming soon): a whole world of magical realms, shrouded in lore and mystery. Here, you write yourself into the story through guided journals and introspective prompts.
Each of these worlds began as a small spark here in the workshop, and each continues to grow in its own strange and wonderful way.
Why I Built This Place
I’ve always been fascinated by the behind-the-scenes magic of creativity, and the quiet, unseen process of bringing something imagined into being. Kobo Moon is both a workshop and a window into that process.
I’ve always loved storytelling, been fascinated by history and folklore, and I also get a kick out of taking the accepted narrative and twisting it into something else.
So, Kobo Moon and its associated worlds are a space for dreamers, writers, makers, and wanderers of all ages, especially anyone who believes that storytelling still holds a little wonder.
Whether you’re here for inspiration, stories, or simply a moment of calm in a noisy world, you’re very welcome.
What You’ll Find in the Weeks Ahead
Over the next few months, I’ll be sharing:
Story sparks and creative curios (for free and paid subscribers)
Behind-the-scenes notes and reflections on building World of Whimsica
Early peeks at stories and projects from the workshop shelves
New creative journals and artefacts as they’re released through my Etsy shop
You can wander in and out as you please, or subscribe to have a bit of moonlight arrive in your inbox every week.
To me, Kobo Moon is less a brand and more a place you can visit; it’s my small corner of the world where imagination still has dust on its boots.
So come in. Mind the ink stains and the open notebooks.
Welcome to Kobo Moon.
💜Georgina
